The 2026 Actor Awards, streaming on March 1, is shaking things up with a fresh dress code. For the first time in its 31-year history, attendees are expected to follow a specific theme: “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour from the ’20s and ’30s. ” This new rule, announced by Elle on January 15, is reminiscent of the Met Gala’s unique themes. The idea is to draw inspiration from the cinematic elegance and bold expression of that era. Celebrities and their stylists are encouraged to embrace sensual gowns, dramatic silhouettes, and fluid designs inspired by the Art Deco spirit of early Hollywood. This dress code aligns with the show’s creative vision, inviting attendees to reexamine and reimagine classic ideas of glamour for a modern audience.
In addition to the dress code, Elle is collaborating on Actors Rising, an event spotlighting the next generation of performers. Taking place after the ceremony, the Official Post-Awards Gala will bring together winners, nominees, presenters, and industry leaders to celebrate the night. The SAG Awards were renamed to provide clearer recognition of what the show is about. The new name, "Actor Awards, " focuses on honoring actors in film and television. Among the stars nominated this year are Timothée Chalamet, Emma Stone, Teyana Taylor, Ariana Grande, and Michael B. Jordan. Harrison Ford will be presented with the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award. The news comes after the Golden Globes, hosted by CBS on January 11, had a completely different look due to construction at the Beverly Hilton. The carpet was moved outdoors, taking up nearly 500 feet along Wilshire Boulevard, and the staircase replaced the traditional flat backdrop, making it reminiscent of the Met Gala.
