Sunday Night Heat in Winston-Salem

The excitement is building in Winston Salem, as the NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium is set to start Sunday evening. The green flag will drop at 8:20 p. m. Chase Elliott will be in front of the pack for the race. Elliott earned his place by winning his heat race Saturday night. There are 23 racing cars in the race. Saturday heat races determined the top 20 spots. Finishing last year's season with the highest points will gave Blaney his spot in the line up. There will be a Last Chance Qualifier race at 6 p. m. , just before the main event. The top two finishers will move into the Clash. The last spot will go to Tim Brown. A driver must have raced last year in the top last year but did not get to race in the Clash. Ty Dillon will start ahead of the others in the Last Chance Qualifier because of his sixth-place finish in the first heat race Saturday night. A modified racer with 53 years, and a lot of wins at Bowman Gray Stadium will move up. Tim Brown will get to race in a cup car for the first time. This is not the first time drivers race at Bowman Gray Stadium. The track is popular.
