Sunny Hostin Criticizes 'Morning Joe's' Meeting with Trump

Sunny Hostin from "The View" didn't hold back when she expressed her thoughts on "Morning Joe" hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski meeting with Donald Trump. She argued that now, more than ever, America needs a press willing to speak truth to power. Hostin felt that the "Morning Joe" team didn't need to meet Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort and "kiss his ring" to cover him properly. She reminded everyone of Trump's past with the press, mentioning his attacks on media, revoking press credentials, and promoting alternative facts. Ana Navarro, also from "The View, " shared similar sentiments. She emphasized that people knew Trump's track record before voting for him in 2024. She even admitted that criticizing Trump's abuses of power could come with serious risks, like death threats and legal issues. Navarro called the meeting between "Morning Joe" and Trump "opportunistic. " Both Hostin and Navarro agreed that the meeting didn't represent the best approach to handling a president like Trump. Whoopi Goldberg, the show's moderator, took a more cautious stance. She wanted to wait and see what Trump would do before making any judgments. After discussing this, the panel shifted to comments made by Bill Maher about voters being more concerned with the economy than race and gender. Hostin and Navarro pushed back, stating that racism and sexism are still significant issues that should not be ignored.
