Surge In Security For Pacific Palisades

Sun Feb 02 2025
Pacific Palisades will stay closed to people other than residents and approved contractors. The residents of the area are worried. They fear crime will increase if outsiders are allowed in. They are fretful that looters, squatters will occupy the empty houses. These houses are empty because of the wildfires and water, gas and electricity. The state said it would send more police to protect Pacific Palisades. With this, normal traffic will be shut down until Feb 3. The Pacific Coast Highway will reopen after that. The police will check if everyone has a valid ID before they let them pass. They will check if you are a resident or a worker who is allowed to be there. This is a lot of trouble. Drivers should stay calm. The highway will only have one lane in each direction. People are allowed to visit. But, the residents are encouraged to stay away. A high-quality officer presence will be available to make sure everything is safe. The mayor asked the residents to keep these things in mind: To keep safe from health hazards, to use the proper information and to give their all to help rebuild the community. One lane of traffic will be allowed in each direction. This will be a major change. It is expected that there will be a lot of traffic jams. The mayor and the governor are working together to handle this situation. The governor said he will help the city until everything is fixed. Residents will need to have their ID checked. They will have checkpoints in place. They will have to do this even to buy groceries. The city will also be busy. Repair and cleaning work will continue in the area. This will keep the area secure.
