Syringe Scares at France's Music Fest

During a recent music festival in France, 145 people reported being pricked with syringes. This happened all over the country, with Paris seeing at least 13 cases. Police are still figuring out what was in the syringes. They don't know if any date-rape drugs like Rohypnol or GHB were used. These drugs can make people confused or pass out, leaving them open to harm. The festival, called Fête de la Musique, drew huge crowds. Paris had three to four times more people than usual. But with big crowds come big problems.Before the festival, some influencers warned that women might be targeted. They said people online were calling for women to be pricked with syringes. The Paris police chief called these calls "completely idiotic. " In Paris, three people, including a 15-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man, said they felt sick after being pricked. Police opened investigations into these cases. Police also arrested 371 people across France on Saturday night. Nearly 90 of those arrests happened in Paris. These arrests were for various incidents, not just the syringe cases. The interior ministry is taking this seriously. They said toxicology tests are being done, and the investigation is ongoing.
