A big food company is taking back a lot of frozen tater tots. Why? Because some bags might have tiny, hard plastic bits in them. This isn't good news for anyone who loves this crispy snack.
The company, McCain Foods, started this recall on December 3, 2025. They did it on their own, without being forced. The U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is keeping an eye on it. So far, over 38, 000 cases of frozen potatoes are involved.
These tater tots were sent to 26 states. That's a lot of places! The two main products are Ore-Ida Tater Tots and Sysco Imperial Potato Tater Barrels. Both come in big, clear plastic bags.
The FDA found out about this problem when someone spotted clear, hard plastic pieces in the tater tots. They say this is a Class II recall. That means the food might make you sick, but you should get better if you do.
No one has gotten hurt or sick from these tater tots yet. But the FDA still wants you to throw them away or take them back to the store. Better safe than sorry, right?
Remember, it's always important to check for recalls. You never know when your favorite snack might be on the list. Stay informed and stay safe!
