In Illinois, counties such as Cook and Will are included. Each state has its specific list of affected areas. The IRS offers this relief to make things a bit easier for those dealing with the aftermath of disasters. In addition to these specific areas, there's another deadline of May 1 for other regions hit by severe weather events and natural disasters, including areas affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
