Taylor Swift's Tour Book: Why It Can't Be a NYT Bestseller
Sat Nov 30 2024
Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour Book" won't become a New York Times bestseller because she chose to sell it exclusively at Target. The publication confirms that books sold by a single vendor aren't tracked for their bestseller list. The 256-page hardcover ($39. 99) shares personal reflections and behind-the-scenes photos from her successful tour. Swifties can buy it in Target stores on Black Friday and online from Saturday. This isn't her first exclusive deal with Target; she's sold special editions of albums there since 2008. However, indie bookstores are disappointed as they can't sell the book to her massive fan base during the holiday season. The book explains how Swift came up with the tour idea while re-recording old albums. She aimed to honor new and old fans, giving her best on stage and focusing on health. The tour started in March 2023 and will end in Vancouver on December 8. It's already grossed over $1 billion and a concert movie made $267 million.
