USASat Nov 01 2025

Bishop Carroll High School has made some significant changes in the world of sports.

New Partnerships Announced

Teaming Up with Central Cambria

Bishop Carroll has decided to end their old partnership with Bishop McCort. Instead, they are now teaming up with Central Cambria for several sports. This new deal includes:

  • Wrestling (both boys and girls)
  • Swimming (both boys and girls)
  • Football

The wrestling and swimming teams will start in 2025 and continue until the 2026-27 school year. Football will begin in 2026 and run until the 2027-28 school year.

Joining Forces with Northern Cambria

In addition, Bishop Carroll is partnering with the Northern Cambria School District. Their soccer teams will be open to Northern Cambria's athletes. This partnership will begin in the 2026-27 season.

Exciting Opportunities for Athletes

These changes mean that Bishop Carroll athletes will have new opportunities:

  • Compete in different sports
  • Meet new teammates
  • Experience a variety of athletic programs

It's an exciting time for the school's sports programs.

Why the Changes?

The reasons behind these changes are not entirely clear. Perhaps Bishop Carroll wanted to:

  • Offer more sports to their students
  • Create stronger teams
  • Provide better athletic experiences

Whatever the reason, it's clear that Bishop Carroll is committed to providing great sports experiences for its students.

questions

With the new co-op, will Bishop Carroll's soccer team be so good that Northern Cambria starts charging for tickets to their games?
Will the new co-op mean that Bishop Carroll athletes will have to learn the Central Cambria school fight song, or is that just for the football team?
Will the wrestling team have to wrestle in Central Cambria's gym, or will they just wrestle in the parking lot if it's a close match?
