Tech Giant Trims Workforce Again: What's Happening at Microsoft?

Microsoft is letting go of thousands of employees, marking its second big round of job cuts in just a few months. This time, the cuts are hitting various teams worldwide, including sales and the Xbox gaming division.
The company hasn't shared the exact number of people affected but says it's less than 4% of its workforce from a year ago. With around 228, 000 employees last June, this could mean nearly 9, 000 people are losing their jobs.
This isn't the first time Microsoft has cut jobs this year. In May, about 6, 000 workers were let go, mostly in software engineering and product management. Then, in June, another 300 jobs disappeared from the headquarters in Redmond, Washington.
Microsoft's top financial officer, Amy Hood, mentioned earlier that the company is trying to build stronger teams and make things more flexible by cutting down on management layers. But with the CEO, Satya Nadella, saying that a big chunk of coding is now done by software, people are worried about the future of programming jobs.
The company says these changes are to help it stay competitive in a fast-changing market. But with so many layoffs, it's hard not to wonder what's next for the tech industry and the people who work in it.
