Tech Titans Clash: Altman Brushes Off Musk's GPT-5 Jabs
A New Chapter in the Tech Feud
Sam Altman and Elon Musk's rivalry took another turn recently. It all started when Microsoft announced plans to integrate OpenAI's GPT-5 into its products.
"OpenAI will eat Microsoft alive."
- Elon Musk, reacting on X
But Microsoft's CEO, Satya Nadella, wasn't worried. He even joked about it, mentioning how companies have been trying to outdo each other for decades.
Altman's Response: A Brush-Off
Altman, however, didn't engage with Musk's comments. During an interview, he simply said:
"I don't think about Musk much. I don't know what he meant by his comment."
He recalled how Musk often criticizes OpenAI on X.
A History of Clashes
This isn't the first time the two have clashed. They co-founded OpenAI together in 2015, but their paths diverged when OpenAI shifted to a for-profit model.
- Musk's Reaction: Vocal disapproval, lawsuits, and attempts to buy the company.
- Altman's Focus: Moving forward with GPT-5's integration into Microsoft's ecosystem.
The Rivalry Continues
The rivalry between these tech giants continues, with each taking shots at the other. But for now, Altman seems to be keeping his cool, brushing off Musk's comments and focusing on innovation.
