Telegram Wallet Opens New Trading Feature
RussiaThu Apr 02 2026
Telegram users now have a way to trade perpetual futures directly from the chat app. The new feature is powered by Lighter, a decentralized exchange that lets people open long or short positions on more than 50 different assets. Traders can use up to 50 times leverage, and the range includes major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Toncoin as well as tokenized stocks and commodities.
The move brings complex derivative products into a platform that reaches millions of people every day, showing how crypto trading is becoming more mainstream. The integration works through a custodial wallet called Crypto Wallet, which handles the security and settlement of trades.
Lighter’s CEO explained that the goal is to make trading feel as easy as sending a message. “You can jump from a chat conversation straight into the market in seconds, ” he said, highlighting how fast the process is.
Perpetual futures are a type of contract that lets traders bet on price swings without owning the asset itself. The market for these contracts has exploded, with trading volumes nearly tripling in 2025 and making up about 90% of all derivatives activity on big exchanges.
Telegram isn’t new to this space. Earlier in the year, a different app called Blum offered similar trading options with even higher leverage on a smaller set of assets. Now, Lighter expands the choice and keeps the experience simple for everyday users.
