Just a couple of months ago, Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, told investors that a regular Tesla model priced at $25, 000 would be pointless. But, the tide seems to be turning. According to Deutsche Bank analysts, Tesla might introduce a new model, possibly called the 'Model Q', in early 2025. The price? Under $30, 000, including federal incentives.
Without the incentives, the price could jump to around $37, 500. This is a significant event, considering Musk has been quiet about affordable models. The incoming change in U. S. administration might be a factor, as the new administration plans to end federal incentives for electric vehicle purchases.
Tesla has been considering an affordable model since 2020, but details are scarce. The most basic Model 3 already falls under $30, 000 with incentives. The new model could be a compact crossover, resembling a slimmer version of the Model Y.
The Model Q, if that's the final name, aims to be Tesla's answer to the growing demand for affordable yet high-quality electric vehicles.
