Hunt, Texas, USATue Jul 08 2025

A Disastrous Event

Texas recently faced a massive flood. It was a disaster. The water came fast and strong. It took many lives. At least 90 people died. Among them were 27 kids and counselors at Camp Mystic. This camp is near the Guadalupe River.

The River's Fury

The river overflowed. It rose over 20 feet in just one hour. The water was powerful. It destroyed everything in its path. Power lines, trees, and vehicles were swept away. The camp was badly hit. Belongings of the young campers were scattered everywhere. A pink backpack and a Camp Mystic T-shirt were found along the river.

Kerr County's Tragedy

The flood affected Kerr County the most. The sheriff there, Larry Leitha, reported the deaths. He said 48 adults and 27 children lost their lives. The scene was heartbreaking. Rescuers and volunteers worked hard to find survivors. Others prayed for those who were lost.

Nature's Power

This flood was a reminder of nature's power. It showed how quickly things can change. The community came together to help each other. But the loss was immense. The recovery will take time.
