A new Thai horror film called "1 After One" is getting attention worldwide before the Cannes Film Market. The movie is all about spirits and curses passed down through families. The story follows Tong, whose shaman father-in-law spent years trapping evil spirits inside himself. When he dies without finishing the job, those spirits escape and latch onto Tong's bloodline instead. The director, Bordeekorn Lohachala, has worked on other Thai films like "A-Ma. " The lead actor Arak Amornsupasiri, known for "4 Kings" and "In Youth We Trust, " plays Tong. His co-star Warintorn Panhakarn, who started in "Same Day with Someone, " plays Chang - a friend with secret occult skills and hidden motives that drive the story.
This project brings together different Asian film companies. Transformation Films, which made hits like "Suddenly Twenty" and "Inhuman Kiss, " is working with Taiwanese partners GrX Studio ("The Tag-Along" franchise) and Lots Home Entertainment ("Breaking and Re-entering"). It's their first time collaborating, showing how horror connects cultures. The producers believe scary stories work everywhere. They say Thai horror feels real because it deals with spirits we fear, debts we owe, and things we inherit from family. The film wants audiences to take those real-world worries and feel them deeply. Chada Entertainment, which handles global sales, thinks local stories connect best across cultures. They say Thai horror has something special - combining folklore, traditions and how people understand fear differently. That unique blend makes this film stand out for international viewers.
