Thanksgiving Travel Weather: Rainy Days Ahead
New Jersey, USASun Nov 23 2025
New Jersey is in for a mix of weather as Thanksgiving approaches. The week starts with a chill, but things get warmer and wetter as the days go by.
Tonight, the state will see clearing skies and dry conditions. Temperatures will hover in the 40s and 50s. Overnight, it will get colder, with lows dipping into the 20s and 30s. Some areas might even see temperatures in the low 20s.
Sunday brings a weak weather system that could bring light showers to the northwestern part of the state. Most places will stay dry, though, with partly cloudy skies. Winds will pick up, especially in the afternoon, making it feel colder.
Monday will be similar to Sunday, with temperatures in the mid 40s to low 50s. The weather will be mostly clear as high pressure takes over.
Things change on Tuesday. A warm front moves in, bringing rain by midday. The rain will get heavier by evening, and temperatures will climb into the 50s and low 60s. The rain will stick around through Tuesday night, with lows in the mid 40s to mid 50s.
Wednesday will be another rainy day, with highs in the 60s. A cold front will move through Wednesday night, ending the rain and bringing much colder air.
Thanksgiving Day will be breezy and cold, with highs only in the mid 40s to low 50s. Winds will gust up to 30 mph. Friday will be even colder, with highs in the mid 30s to mid 40s and continued windy conditions.
Next weekend looks dry, but temperatures will stay below normal for late November.
Travelers should be prepared for changing weather conditions. Rain and wind could make travel tricky, especially on the busiest days.
