The 49ers and Packers Face Off in a Crucial Second Quarter
Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, USAMon Nov 25 2024
The San Francisco 49ers started the game by winning the coin toss and choosing to defer. Green Bay's Josh Jacobs quickly showed signs of a strong performance. He gained 18 yards on the second play, thanks to a missed tackle by Ji’Ayir Brown. Jacobs continued to find open spaces, adding another 10 yards two plays later.
Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love completed a pass to Jayden Reed for a first down on 3rd & 4, despite Renardo Green's efforts. Jacobs then picked up nine more yards, putting the Packers inside the red zone after Fred Warner missed a tackle.
Despite a holding penalty that stalled their drive, the Packers managed to score a touchdown. Love threw a 13-yard pass to Reed and an 11-yard touchdown pass to Tucker Kraft. This 12-play drive took over seven minutes off the clock, giving Green Bay an early 7-0 lead.
The 49ers' first offensive series wasn't much better. George Kittle caught a nine-yard pass from Brandon Allen, but a false start by Dominck Puni set them back. Christian McCaffrey managed just one yard on 2nd & 6, and Allen took a sack on 3rd & 5, missing a wide-open Ricky Pearsall over the middle.
