Respawn Entertainment, the team behind Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor, has made a significant change. They decided to stop working on two projects that were just starting out. Instead, they are putting all their energy into the upcoming sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and creating new content for Apex Legends. This move has led to some changes in the team, with employees being reassigned to different projects. The news about these cancellations came from a post on Respawn Entertainment's X account on April 29th. The post included a detailed statement explaining why they decided to cancel the two unannounced projects and what their plans are moving forward. The studio mentioned that they are "sharpening our focus for the future, " which means they are concentrating on what they believe will be most successful. The exact details of the canceled projects are not clear. However, reports suggest that one of them was a multiplayer first-person shooter that was canceled earlier in the year. The other project remains a mystery. Despite this, Respawn Entertainment is excited about their future plans. They are committed to improving the gameplay and introducing new ideas in the upcoming seasons of Apex Legends. For the next Star Wars Jedi game, they are eager to continue telling stories and raising the bar for both storytelling and gameplay. This shift has not been easy for everyone. Around 100 people at the studio have been affected by these changes. Some of these employees are being given a 30-day period to find new opportunities within the company. They recently revealed Star Wars: Zero Company, a tactical game set during the Clone Wars era. This game is set to be released in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Respawn will support the game's developer, Bit Reactor, while continuing work on the Star Wars Jedi sequel and new content for Apex Legends.
