The lawsuit began last October against Combs, with Jay-Z's name being added in December. There have been some inconsistencies in the accuser's story, but the judge refused to dismiss the case. Interestingly, both sides have lawsuits against each other. The accuser's lawyer claims that Jay-Z's company, Roc Nation, is trying to sabotage him. Meanwhile, Jay-Z has sued the lawyer for defamation. Jane Doe says she encountered the rappers at an MTV Music Video Awards afterparty, where the assault allegedly happened. In a letter to the accuser's lawyer, Jay-Z denies the allegations strongly, asserting his moral stand and upbringing from Brooklyn. Combs is currently in a Brooklyn jail awaiting his trial in May.
