The Grim Princess Game Comes to Korea in July
Tokyo, JapanFri May 08 2026
Nippon Ichi Software’s newest adventure, The Grim Princess and the Monster of the Library, will hit Korean players on July 2. It can be played on Nintendo Switch 2, the original Switch and PlayStation 5.
The game is part of a line called “picture book, ” after titles like The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince and The Cruel King and the Great Hero. It shows a monster meeting a human inside a fairy‑tale world, but it flips the usual story rules. The art is by Sayaka Oda and the plot was written by Kento Jobana.
Alongside the main release, a Digital Deluxe Edition drops. It contains a digital art book with character profiles, sketches and notes from the creators. The music package adds 27 tracks: 20 background pieces by Takeshi Matsumoto, who scored earlier games in the series, and seven songs sung by Akiko Shikata.
Players can expect a mix of cute visuals and surprising twists, while the soundtrack deepens the atmosphere. The game’s timing fits a growing interest in indie titles that mix classic storytelling with modern gaming tech.
