As the back-to-school season approaches, a new survey reveals that more than half of US parents are struggling to afford the technology their children need for school. The survey, conducted by mobile device recommerce company EcoATM Gazelle, found that 55% of parents have gone into credit card debt, used a payment plan, or borrowed money from friends or family to pay for new technology for their children. The high cost of technology has also led 41% of parents to seek out affordable, low-cost brands due to inflation. The survey also found that 56% of parents feel the need to buy new technology for their children in order to stay technologically literate. With so much homework being assigned online, many kids can't make it through high school without a computer.
