Want to know what makes eco-friendly innovation tick? A study in Pakistan took a look at two big ingredients: employee support from their companies and strong leadership that encourages growth. They discovered that when employees feel backed and have motivated leaders, they're more likely to dive into what's called eco-friendly deliberate practice (EDP). This is like when people really work at improving their skills in an environmentally friendly way. But get this – it's not just about the hours spent working. The study also found that how well employees bounce back from tough times (employee resilience or ER) can make or break the effectiveness of this practice. Basically, tough, resilient employees can turn eco-innovation up a notch.
The study went over a period of time, collecting data from both employees and their bosses in the service sector. Using a tool called SmartPLS, they figured out that those two ingredients, support (POS) and leadership (DL), are essential to making EDP happen. And when employee resilience is high, EDP leads to even better eco-innovation performance (EP). Here’s the twist: while many talk about deliberate practice, not many have dug into how it plays out in real life. This study fills that gap, highlighting the power of a supportive environment and resilient employees in boosting eco-innovation. So, forget pushing harder – create a supportive workspace and help employees build resilience instead.
