The Man Who Wrapped the World in a Burrito
Duane Roberts left a big mark on the world. He was the guy who came up with the frozen burrito. He passed away at 88, just a few days before his 89th birthday. His wife, Kelly, said he went peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family and their three dogs.
More Than Just Food
Duane wasn't just about food. He was a big deal in business and gave back a lot. He helped fix up the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa in Riverside, California. He also cared about animals, schools, veterans, and art. His wife said he was a smart businessman, a loving husband, and a great family man.
A Life of Service and Innovation
Before all that, Duane served in the U.S. military. After that, he changed the food game with his frozen burrito in 1956. His stepkids, Doug and Casey Reinhardt, were even on MTV's "The Hills." Pretty cool, right?
A Legacy of Kindness
Duane's wife shared that they built a great life together. She said he was a kind man who touched many lives. His family and community felt his impact. He was more than just a businessman. He was a man who cared.
