The Sixers' Big Loss: A Night to Forget
Philadelphia, USAFri Jan 03 2025
The Philadelphia Sixers had a rough night on Wednesday. Facing the Golden State Warriors, they ended up losing by a big margin, 139-105. This was the second game in a row, so it's understandable that they might not have had their best game. Joel Embiid, who was back in the lineup after missing some time, scored 28 points. This wasn't enough to turn things around, though. Paul George and Tyrese Maxey also played, but their performances weren't enough to help the Sixers win. Steph Curry was the top scorer for the Warriors, making all of his three-point shots. It was a tough game all around for the Sixers, with turns, fouls, and missed shots piling up.
The first quarter wasn't great for them. They turned the ball over a lot and missed many shots. Embiid tried to help, but the defense kept getting caught off guard. The Sixers did manage to score some inside the paint, but the Warriors were shooting much better. By the end of the quarter, the Warriors were leading by 16.
In the second quarter, the Sixers started making some three-pointers, but the Warriors kept up. Paul George was doing well, but Tyrese Maxey was struggling with his shots. Embiid came back in and helped a bit, but the Sixers were still down by 16 at halftime.
The third quarter was more of the same. The Sixers kept making mistakes and couldn't get their shots to fall. Steph Curry was on fire, and the Warriors kept their lead. By the end of the quarter, the Sixers were down by 25.
The fourth quarter didn't change much. The Sixers couldn't catch up, and the Warriors won big.
