The Top Threats to Medical Care Quality
Saratov Oblast, RussiaMon May 12 2025
Medical groups face a lot of challenges. These can come from outside or inside the organization. To handle these issues, they need to have a good risk management plan. A recent effort looked at the different risks that affect how well medical groups work. The study used a special way to group risks called the A. V. Zavrazhsky typology. This helped to figure out where the dangers come from, especially with money matters. The goal was to see how these risks affect the quality of care patients receive.
To get this information, a survey was created. It used a six-point scale to measure how big of a problem different risks were. Over 250 people took part in the survey. These included leaders of medical groups in a specific region. They had to say how much certain risks affected the care they provided. The survey also looked at how long these leaders had been in their jobs and their roles.
Several tests were used to check the results. These included tests to see if the data fit well and to compare different groups. The findings showed that money risks were the biggest problem. They made up 26% of the issues affecting care quality. Next were general economic risks at 24%, legal risks at 18%, social risks at 17%, and professional risks at 15%. The study also found that not having enough money from mandatory insurance was a big financial risk. This directly affects how good the care is.
The results of this study can help medical groups make better plans. By knowing what risks are most important, they can focus on fixing them. This can lead to better and more efficient care for patients. It is important for medical groups to keep looking at these risks. This way, they can always be ready to handle new challenges. The study showed that the length of service and position of leaders also play a role. This means that experience and role in the organization can change how risks are seen.
Understanding these risks is crucial. It helps medical groups to plan better and provide better care. By focusing on the biggest risks, they can make sure patients get the best treatment possible. This study gives a good starting point. It shows what needs to be fixed first. But medical groups should keep checking and updating their plans. This way, they can always be ready for whatever comes their way.
