It follows his journey from a Florida Gator to the New England Patriots, under the watchful eye of coach Bill Belichick. However, the show takes liberties with the truth. It depicts Hernandez walking onto the practice field naked, which never happened. His first NFL touchdown was more impressive than the series shows. Also, Hernandez was not short on money during his rookie season, contrary to what the show suggests. The series also fabricates a head injury after a 43-yard run against the Denver Broncos.
