Tue Aug 27 2024
Shedeur Sanders, the youngest son of NFL legend Deion Sanders, has been making waves in the football world. As a quarterback for Colorado, Sanders has been following in the footsteps of his esteemed family, with his brothers Shilo and Deion Sanders Jr. also having successful football careers. Sanders' journey began at Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas, where he honed his skills from 2017 to 2020. The Sanders family has a long history with Trinity Christian. Both of Shedeur's brothers attended the school, and their father, Deion Sanders, was the school's offensive coordinator. During his time at Trinity Christian, Sanders completed 805 passes out of 1238 for a staggering 12,627 yards and 166 touchdowns. His impressive high school statistics helped him record 10 wins at the prep level. As a freshman, Sanders was already making a name for himself, with two state championships under his belt. In his sophomore season, he completed 177 passes for 3,088 yards and 42 touchdowns. Sanders' success on the field was matched by his achievements off the field, as he was named the TAPPS Division 11 Player of the Year multiple times and recognized as the National Player of the Year by Sports Illustrated in 2019.
After completing high school, Sanders attended Jackson State University in Mississippi. During his time at Jackson, Sanders helped the university break multiple records, including winning two SWAC championships for the first time since 2007 and making appearances in the Celebration Bowl twice. In early 2023, Sanders made headlines when he decided to join the University of Colorado Boulder. He is currently majoring in sociology and following in his father's footsteps once again, as Deion Sanders was recently appointed head coach.
At 6 feet 2 inches tall, Sanders is continuously striving to be his best with the great responsibility of carrying forward his family's legacy.
