As Americans eagerly await their election results, the rest of the world is also watching closely. The U. S. might not be the sole superpower it once was, but it's still the most influential nation globally. How the election turns out can shape the world for years to come. Already, the election cycle is affecting U. S. actions and others' responses. For instance, it's causing confusion in U. S. positions on Ukraine and the Middle East. A possible Donald Trump victory might end U. S. support for Ukraine, so the Ukrainian government is working hard to solidify its stance. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin is waiting patiently. In the Middle East, the election has given Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu room to escalate conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon. He's using U. S. weapons to target civilians, hospitals, and refugee camps. U. S. agencies are concerned, but they're not taking strong action due to the election. Netanyahu hopes the next U.
