Life with multiple sclerosis (MS) can be a roller coaster ride. It's not going to be an easy one. MS is an ongoing and inflamed condition that damages the nervous system, and it's getting more tricky with new treatment choices.
Part 1 of the MS roadmap focuses on six key areas. These are like crucial signs on a very long road trip. Things we have to carefully select or decide. It's like choosing the right car to buy that is going to start your journey and that can cope with the bad road.
One important stop is before you start the treatment. This is not just checking the tires and oil on your car. No, More like making sure you check the car engine and the whole car from head to toe. You also need to keep an eye on how the car is performing while you're on your journey. In this case, you need a doctor to keep track of how MS is progressing.
Second, something worth mentioning is also the closer look at switches. Yes switches on MS treatment option and how are they managed and done correctly.
Sometimes you need to completely stop using your car that happens in MS treatment too. So, experts also have to figure out when to stop treatment.
Multiple sclerosis is a lifelong journey. It's a tricky disease and the brain can be tricky to deal with. But we can be sure we have a roadmap that can help us better understand the road ahead.
This research has no doubt created some clarity. Think of it as an admin tool that can help us understand more about our own journey and plan accordingly. It is not ready to use and implement, but if implemented correctly, the changes could be quite beneficial to people on the ground.
The downside, as usual, is also documenting this process. So many areas the knowledge might be too broad. As we go along, we may learn some lessons that might help along the way.
