Thinking Outside the Box and Handball Skills

Baghdad, IraqFri Nov 08 2024
You might not think about it often, but the way we look at things matters a lot. This is where sideways thinking comes in. It's about seeing one thing in many different ways. This kind of thinking helps us make quick decisions and can even boost our brainpower. It plays a big role in developing smarts. The trouble is, we don't know much about how well girls can do this kind of thinking. We also don't know how it affects their handball skills. This study aimed to find out more about girls' sideways thinking and their handball skills. It was done with students in their second year at a sports college in Baghdad in 2015 and 2016. The study used a test called the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking for sideways thinking. It also used two tests for handball skills. The results showed that the girls were good at sideways thinking. This kind of thinking had a positive effect on their handball skills. The researcher suggested that schools should teach students how to think in new ways. This could help improve their sideways thinking skills and make them better at sports.

questions

What if the students started thinking so laterally that they could play handball with their minds instead of their hands?
How does the research aim to bridge the gap in understanding the relationship between lateral thinking and handball skills?
How can the findings of this study be applied to improve teaching methods beyond just handball skills?
