Thursday's Big News: Israelis & Thais to Be Freed from Gaza
Wed Jan 29 2025
Israel has revealed the names of three people they hope to see freed in Gaza this Thursday. They include Arbel Yehud, 29, who was taken from her home, along with her partner Ariel Cunio. Gadi Moses, an 80-year-old grandfather, was also snatched from the same community. And Agam Berger, a 19-year-old soldier, was taken from a military base close by. Along with these three, five Thai citizens are expected to be released too.
This release is part of a bigger deal between Israel and Hamas. The plan aims to free 33 Israeli hostages taken during the October 7 attacks. So far, two rounds of releases have happened, but eight more Israeli hostages are no longer alive.
The Hostage and Missing Families Forum has assured they won't stop until everyone is home. They want the living to be properly rehabilitated and the deceased to have proper burials. Moses' family is especially excited, thanking the people of Israel for their support.
In exchange, Israel will release almost 2, 000 Palestinian prisoners. This ceasefire is a relief for Gaza, after over 15 months of bombing.
