Tie‑Dye Healing for Survivors
Saginaw Township, MI, USAThu Mar 26 2026
The community in Saginaw Township is opening a creative door for people who have faced sexual violence.
In April, the local Child and Family Services office will run a tie‑dying workshop that lets participants explore color and texture as tools for healing.
The event, called “Letting Go of Control: A Tie‑Dye Experience, ” aligns with Sexual Assault Awareness Month and offers a safe, art‑based space where people can work at their own pace.
Two sessions will be held at 2838 Automotive Center: adults (18+) from 11 a. m. to 12:30 p. m. , and high‑school teens from 1:30 p. m. to 3 p. m.
Attendees may bring light‑colored cotton garments, but all dyes and supplies will be supplied by the organizers. The focus is on comfort, creativity, and emotional safety.
Because each session keeps a small group size to maintain intimacy, spots are limited. Anyone interested should register by March 31 by calling Mishelle Powell‑Storey at 989‑790‑7500, ext. 235 or emailing mpowell@sac-saginaw. org.
This initiative shows how art can become a gentle ally in the journey toward recovery.
