Her family shared that she had been struggling with asthma and Addison’s disease, a rare condition that affects hormone production. Her husband, Cameron Grigg, described her death as both sudden and unexpected. Addison’s disease, also known as adrenal insufficiency, is an uncommon illness. It happens when the body doesn’t produce enough of certain hormones. The adrenal glands, responsible for making cortisol and aldosterone, don’t work as they should. Symptoms can take months to appear and include extreme tiredness, weight loss, and dark skin patches. Other signs can be low blood pressure, salt cravings, low blood sugar, stomach issues, and joint pain. In severe cases, it can lead to shock and loss of consciousness. The disease affects about 1 in 100,000 people in the United States, though it may go undiagnosed in some cases. Taylor had mentioned her health battles online, saying she was fighting for her life daily after falling ill in August 2023.
