Get ready for a special treat on “Saturday Night Live”! The popular NBC comedy sketch show is kicking off its 50th season with two new episodes in January. On January 25th, Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet will be pulling double duty as both the host and the musical guest. This isn't his first time on the show; Chalamet has hosted before in December 2020 and November 2023, and even made a cameo in April 2021.
Chalamet's latest acting credit is in the film “A Complete Unknown, ” where he plays a young Bob Dylan and sings some of the legendary musician's classic tunes. The movie is generating a lot of buzz, especially for Chalamet, who has been nominated for an Academy Award before, for his role in the 2018 film “Call Me By Your Name. ”
The movie “A Complete Unknown” recounts Dylan's groundbreaking performance at the 1965 Newport Music Festival, where he decided to play with an electric guitar. The film also stars Elle Fanning and Edward Norton, who are also receiving praise during this year's awards season.
Interestingly, Chalamet has been impersonated on “SNL” several times, most notably by cast member Chloe Fineman. As for the other January episode, comedian Dave Chappelle will be hosting on January 18th, with artist GloRilla joining as the musical guest.
