Tom Hardy is stepping back into the gritty world of MobLand for its second season. Fans have been on the edge of their seats since the first season ended, and now, new photos from the set are giving us a sneak peek.
The show's creators didn't make us wait too long. Unlike some shows that take forever to get a second season, MobLand was given the green light in June 2025. We can expect to see it in 2026.
In the new photos, we see Hardy dressed in his character's signature brown leather jacket, walking along the River Thames with co-star Joanne Froggatt. Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, a tough but charming fixer for the Harrigan crime family. Froggatt plays Jan Da Souza, Harry's wife, who is worried about her family's safety because of Harry's dangerous job.
The first season left us wondering if Harry's loyalty to the Harrigans would last. Now, with the tension between his job and his family still unresolved, we can expect some serious drama in season 2.
MobLand made a big splash when it debuted on Paramount+ last March. Hardy's performance as Da Souza was a huge part of its success, earning the show a respectable 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The show started as a spinoff of Ray Donovan but quickly became its own thing.
This isn't Hardy's first time playing a criminal. He also played the wild and unpredictable Alfie Solomons in Peaky Blinders. But unlike Solomons, Da Souza is more conflicted and moral. Both roles show off Hardy's range as an actor.
Hardy is known for taking on challenging roles and choosing projects that give him creative freedom. With MobLand season 2, we can expect more of the same intense performances that made the first season so popular.
