Tragic Crash: Tesla Cybertruck Causes Fire and Fatalities in California
Piedmont, California, USA,Thu Nov 28 2024
In the heart of California, a Tesla Cybertruck crash led to a fatal fire early Wednesday morning. The incident happened in Piedmont, just outside San Francisco, leaving three people dead and one injured. Police Chief Jeremy Bowers confirmed that the truck crashed at around 3 a. m. , with an unidentified survivor currently stable in the hospital. No personal details of the victims have been released yet, in respect for their families.
The Piedmont Police Department responded swiftly after receiving an alert from one of the victim's iPhones. A bystander also called 911. When officers arrived, they found the Cybertruck engulfed in flames. A witness had already rescued one of the victims, who was then taken to the hospital. The fire was too intense for police to intervene, so the Piedmont Fire Department stepped in to extinguish the blaze.
Although the relations between the four individuals in the car are unknown, they were all reportedly returning from an event. Sources close to the victims' families reveal that all four were recent graduates of Piedmont High School and current college sophomores, known for their popularity in soccer.
Speed is suspected to be a factor in the collision. Chief Bowers refused to comment on potential substance abuse or vehicle defects, stating there's no indication of a mechanical issue. This tragic event comes during the holiday season, with the community extending sympathies to the affected families.
Tesla has faced several recalls involving the Cybertruck this year. The latest recall, issued recently, addresses a potential power loss issue that could cause crashes. Earlier this year, another recall targeted nearly 4, 000 Cybertrucks due to a sticky accelerator pedal. Tesla has been contacted for comments on the incident.
