Tragic End: The Capture and Fate of Jamshid Sharmahd

In a shocking turn of events, Iran executed Jamshid Sharmahd, a 69-year-old man who held both German and Iranian citizenship. This happened after he had been imprisoned for years. Sharmahd, a political scientist and US resident, was apprehended in 2020 during a trip to the United Arab Emirates, according to his family. Iran accused him of being involved in a mosque bombing in Shiraz back in 2008, which sadly took the lives of 14 people and left 300 others injured.They also alleged that he headed a group plotting to topple their government. Sharmahd's family vehemently denied these accusations, claiming his innocence. Germany strongly condemned the execution and warned of serious repercussions for Iran.
