The Transportation Security Administration is expecting a busy time, with about 40 million people flying between December 19 and January 2. That's a rise from last year. But if the government shuts down, things could get slow.
Most TSA workers will still show up for work, but they won't get paid. Some might not come in if it's too hard on their wallets. This happened during a shutdown a few years back. Long lines at security checks could be on the way.
Karine Jean-Pierre, a spokesperson from the White House, shared worries about families trying to meet. She said a shutdown hurts those who just want to be with their loved ones.
