On Wednesday, the Treasure Coast and Palm Beach County faced a tragic loss when six people, including a 66-year-old woman, were killed in a tornado outbreak. Deborah Kennedy, who lived in the senior community of Spanish Lakes Country Club, was one of the victims. Her boyfriend was found injured outside their devastated home.
Deborah's daughter had heartwarming words for her mother. She described Deborah as an "amazing person," always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. Deborah was a dedicated daughter, leaving her job to care for her sick father. She was also a devoted mother and grandmother, who was adored by her grandchildren. The tight bond she shared with her family was unbreakable.
The tornadoes wreaked havoc across multiple communities. HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce treated 15 patients affected by the tornadoes. Among those treated, one person died, three were discharged, four were in good condition, five were fair, one was serious, and one was critical.
Tornadoes are powerful forces of nature that show us the necessity of preparedness and community support. This event underscores the importance of emergency plans for such devastating events.
