Trump Honors Six Tech Titans With Top Science Medals

President Trump handed out the nation's highest science and technology awards at a Washington summit. The White House said six leaders received the medals. Michael Kratsios, the science policy chief, stood beside him.

Elon Musk was recognized for work in space, smart systems and U.S. manufacturing. Sergey Brin earned praise for the core algorithms that power search and data handling. Jensen Huang got credit for turning graphics chips into a universal computing platform. Lisa Su was honored for processor designs that enabled the first exascale supercomputer. Michael Dell was cited for building a global PC and enterprise empire. Satya Nadella was noted for steering Microsoft into the cloud era and the massive infrastructure behind American AI.

Trump called the group national treasures and likened them to his uncle, a past medal winner. He described Musk as a modern Thomas Edison. Five of the six were born outside the United States, and each has contributed money to Trump or Republican causes.

Just before the ceremony, Vice President Vance announced a pause on Microsoft's ability to sponsor foreign workers for green cards. Vance said the administration still values the partnership. Meanwhile, AI firms pledged billions in credits and tools for federal research, including a one-billion-dollar commitment from Nvidia.
