Trump's Blunt View on Immigration: The US as a Garbage Can
Arizona, Tempe, USAFri Oct 25 2024
At a recent rally in Arizona, former President Donald Trump made some bold statements about immigration. He said the US is like a "garbage can" for the world, meaning that people from other countries are coming here and bringing problems with them. Trump was really mad about the current government's handling of the border. He's been talking about immigration a lot during his campaign, saying that undocumented immigrants are dangerous and there's an "invasion" happening. He even said he wants to deport way more people if he gets elected again.
Trump has been using strong language to describe undocumented immigrants for a long time. He's said they're murderers, crazy, and dangerous. He also made some claims about Haitian immigrants that weren't true. Recently, he said immigrants who commit murder have "bad genes, " which is a controversial thing to say.
Trump thinks closing the border and sending people back is the most important thing for the country right now. He blames his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, for the increase in undocumented migrants. But the Biden-Harris administration has been trying to fix the immigration system, and they've started to reduce the number of people crossing the border illegally.
During a CNN town hall, Harris said the immigration system is broken and needs help from Congress. She also said people should earn their citizenship and that she wants to strengthen the border. She criticized Trump for not finishing his border wall and making Mexico pay for it.
