Kenneth Chesebro, a lawyer representing Donald Trump, is in a tight spot. He's been temporarily banned from practicing law in New York. This comes just days after he admitted to being part of a plot to change Georgia's 2020 election results. Chesebro and Trump, among others, were charged in 2023 with breaking Georgia's anti-racketeering law. They were accused of trying to change the election outcome by submitting false documents. Chesebro pleaded guilty to one felony charge in October 2023 and was given five years of probation, community service, and a fine. Another lawyer, Sidney Powell, also pleaded guilty and was given six years of probation and a fine. In a separate case, Rudy Giuliani, a former New York mayor and defendant in the same election interference case, was ordered to give up his apartment and other assets to pay a $148 million judgment. Giuliani had already been disbarred in 2024. It's a big reminder that legal actions have serious consequences.
