The Trump administration is trying to stop a financial crisis. They think it could happen because the government has been spending too much money for a long time. The Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, said this on a TV show. He thinks that if they keep spending like this, it will be a big problem. He said, "We are resetting, and we are putting things on a sustainable path. " Trump has been trying to fix the government's money problems since he started his job. He made a new department to help with this. This department is led by Elon Musk. It's supposed to cut jobs and offer early retirement to federal workers. But, even with all this, the U. S. debt and deficit problem got worse in Trump's first month in office. The budget shortfall for February passed the $1 trillion mark. Bessent said there are "no guarantees" there won't be a recession. The market has been up and down a lot lately. This is because Trump's tariffs have made people worry about inflation and an economic slowdown. The S&P 500 fell into a 10% correction from its February high as volatility spiked. Bessent thinks these ups and downs are normal and healthy. He believes Trump's pro-business policies will help the market and the economy in the long run. Bessent has been in the investment business for a long time. He knows that corrections are normal. He thinks it would have been better if someone had stopped the market from going up too fast in 2006 and 2007. That way, there wouldn't have been such a big problem in 2008. He's not worried about the markets right now. He thinks that if they put good tax policies in place, deregulation and energy security, the markets will do great. He said, "I say that one week does not the market make. "
