One voter, Ramiro González, a construction worker with Cuban heritage, questioned Trump about his actions and inactions during the January 6 Capitol attack. Trump responded by saying that the people who came to Washington on that day did so because they believed the election was rigged. He also mentioned that "action was taken, strong action," regarding the attack. However, it was when Trump seemed to contradict himself by saying, "Ashli Babbitt was killed, nobody was killed," that the women in the audience showed their disapproval. They were seen with crossed arms, and one of them even widened her eyes in disbelief. Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed protester, was shot by a Capitol Police officer during the attack.
