Truth Behind the Trump Golf Course Incident
West Palm Beach, USAThu Sep 19 2024
Former President Donald Trump was enjoying a round of golf at his West Palm Beach, Florida, club when a Secret Service agent spotted a rifle sticking through a fence. The agent opened fire, and a man fled the scene. The suspect, Ryan Routh, was arrested and charged with two federal firearm counts.
As news of the incident spread, pundits from both sides of the political spectrum began making claims about Routh's political affiliation. But, surprisingly, none of these claims were accurate. Routh's social media posts, public records, and a self-published book revealed that his politics didn't align with the labels assigned to him.
According to the Federal Elections Commission, Routh made 19 political donations between 2019 and 2020, totaling $140. 40. These donations were all made to ActBlue, a prominent PAC that supports Democratic candidates. However, the memos on these donations revealed that the funds were earmarked for specific candidates, none of which were Joe Biden or Kamala Harris.
Routh's social media feeds, which are now deleted, showed a mix of posts supporting and opposing Trump. He also wrote about his changing views on Trump, describing himself as someone who once supported him but grew disillusioned. Routh's book, "Ukraine's Unwinnable War," revealed his strong opposition to Trump, calling him a "fool" and "buffoon. "
Despite the claims that Routh was a Republican or Democrat, his voting registration in North Carolina showed that he was unaffiliated with either party. He had voted in the 2024 Democratic primary, but hadn't voted since 2012 prior to that date.
Routh's connections to North Carolina and Hawaii were also revealed. His deleted social media accounts showed a strong interest in the ongoing war in Ukraine, and he had even attempted to recruit foreign volunteers to fight on the front lines.
