TV Star's Big Change After Diabetes Drug

Eric Stonestreet got a type 2 diabetes diagnosis back in 2009. That happened right after he landed his big role on Modern Family. He felt embarrassed and kept it secret for years. Even his future wife didn't know at first. Then a doctor pushed him to take it seriously. He started weekly shots of Mounjaro after it got FDA approval in 2022.

The actor showed up at a Dexter premiere in New York City on October 8. He looked noticeably different. He wore a blue shirt with a brown leather jacket. His wife Lindsay was there too. She works as a pediatric nurse. They met at a hospital in 2017 and got married in September 2025.

Stonestreet says the medication changed everything. It shifted how he eats and moves. He felt like he had to do his part since the drug was doing its job. The weight came off as a side effect of better choices. He also got a boost in energy. His mom tried the same drug and lost a lot of weight.

In 2025 he became a spokesperson for Eli Lilly, the company that makes Mounjaro. He talked to People magazine about his experience in May. He wanted to be around for his wife's twin boys. That motivation kept him going. The transformation was slow at first. Then it sped up in the last year.

The star says good habits matter more than the drug alone. He believes the medication helps but you still need to put in work. Weight loss happens when you combine both. He feels better now and has more pep in his step. His journey shows how health changes can start with one decision.
