Two Audio Powerhouses Join Forces
Wed May 14 2025
A new alliance has been forged in the world of audio technology. Nothing, a brand known for its smartphones and earbuds, has teamed up with Kef, a company with over 60 years of experience in audio products. This partnership aims to push the boundaries of what premium audio can offer.
The collaboration is set to bring together Kef's extensive knowledge in audio engineering with Nothing's innovative design approach. This union is expected to create a new benchmark for everyday listening experiences. Andrew Freshwater, the head of smart products at Nothing, expressed excitement about the future of Nothing Audio. He believes that this partnership will mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Grace Lo, the head of global marketing at Kef, shared similar enthusiasm. She highlighted that this partnership allows Kef to bring its rich acoustic heritage into a fresh context. Together, they aim to redefine what premium audio can look and feel like for the next generation.
The details about the specific products they are working on are still under wraps. However, it is known that several acoustically co-developed products are already in progress. More information is expected to be shared in the coming months. Nothing's last audio product releases included the Nothing Ear (a) in April 2024 and a series of new earbuds in its CMF by Nothing range in April 2025. These releases show Nothing's commitment to expanding its audio product line.
Beyond earbuds, there is potential for this partnership to extend into other areas. For instance, Nothing and Kef could work together on future smartphone releases. They could focus on tuning the speakers and audio for higher quality sound. This could set a new standard for mobile audio, similar to what Asus and Dirac achieved with the ROG Phone 9 Pro. However, few other companies have explored this area, leaving a significant opportunity for Nothing and Kef.
This partnership is more than just a business deal. It is a fusion of two distinct but complementary strengths. Kef brings its decades of expertise in audio engineering, while Nothing offers a fresh, design-led approach to technology. Together, they are poised to create products that not only sound great but also look and feel premium.
