U. S. Military Leaders Visit Ukraine to Talk Tech and Peace
Kyiv, UkraineThu Nov 20 2025
High-ranking U. S. Army officials made a trip to Ukraine recently. They wanted to check out Ukraine's military tech and talk about ending the war. The group included Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George, and other top brass. The White House chose Driscoll to lead the team.
The visit was all about learning from Ukraine's military innovations. Driscoll was especially interested in Ukraine's use of drones and AI. He mentioned how Ukraine's recent drone attack, called Operation Spider's Web, used cheap drones to destroy expensive Russian equipment. This shows how tech can change the game in warfare.
The team also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. They discussed restarting peace talks. A Ukrainian official said the visit was crucial because the war is at a critical stage. Both Ukraine and the U. S. want to end the conflict, but the details are tricky.
Peace talks have been stuck for months. Even though President Trump tried to revive them, nothing major has happened. The U. S. has been sharing intelligence with Ukraine again. Ukraine has been using this info, along with drones and long-range equipment, to strike back at Russia.
Driscoll plans to talk with Russian officials in the future. Russia says it's open to negotiations. A Russian adviser even mentioned a 28-point peace plan. However, the U. S. hasn't confirmed this plan. The situation is complex, and both sides are trying to find a way out.
