Ukraine and US Keep Talking: What's Next?

Ukraine's main peace negotiator, Rustem Umerov, shared that discussions with the US about ending the war with Russia will keep going. These talks will happen at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Before this, Umerov and his team met with US officials in Florida. They talked about security promises and plans for Ukraine after the war. But, no one said if they made any deals. The talks in Florida were part of many meetings to figure out how to make peace. They talked a lot about how to put their plans into action. Umerov also told about recent Russian attacks. These attacks hurt Ukraine's energy systems. Many homes were left without heat or electricity.Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, said the attacks show that Russia doesn't want peace. He said if Russia wanted to end the war, they would talk more. Also, Ukraine's intelligence found that Russia is checking out important places. They might be planning more attacks, even on nuclear power stations. The Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, said there's proof that Russia might attack power stations that supply nuclear plants. But, Russia hasn't said anything about these claims.
