In a bold move, Ukraine's military recently fended off a significant Russian attack near the town of Dobropillia. This clash involved over 20 armored vehicles, according to reports from the Azov brigade. The Ukrainian forces managed to repel the assault, destroying nine of the Russian vehicles in the process. The goal of the Russian attack seemed to be capturing the nearby village of Shakhove.

The Azov brigade shared footage of the battle, which was verified to be from the Malynivka area in the Donetsk region. Malynivka is roughly 13 kilometers south of Shakhove. Ukrainian military leaders have been optimistic about their recent gains, stating that they are retaking territory in the Dobropillia area. They describe the Russian troops as being in a tough spot.

Dobropillia is close to Pokrovsk, a crucial logistical hub that Russian troops have been trying to reach as they push westward through the Donetsk region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has highlighted these advances as proof that Ukraine can resist Russia's persistent advances.
